Charlie
KeymasterWelcome to the GetTesting TechEx Forum
This forum has been set up as a practical place for people working with electrical equipment testing, inspection, maintenance and compliance to ask questions, share experiences and discuss real-world issues.
The aim is not to create another noisy social media group. The aim is to build a useful, searchable knowledge base around the day-to-day problems people actually come across when testing, managing or maintaining electrical equipment.
You are welcome to post about things such as:
- PAT testing and in-service inspection and testing
- Appliance classes and test procedures
- Failed tests and fault finding
- Labels, records and retest periods
- Extension leads, IEC leads and IT equipment
- Workplace responsibilities and risk assessment
- Equipment management, calibration and practical site issues
- Questions from learners before or after a GetTesting course
This forum is open to sensible discussion. You do not need to be an expert to post a question. In fact, straightforward beginner questions are encouraged, because they often become useful reference points for other people later.
Please keep posts clear, respectful and practical. If you are asking about a specific item, include as much useful context as possible, such as the appliance type, class, test results, environment and what you are unsure about.
The forum is not intended to replace formal training, manufacturer instructions, competent inspection, or professional judgement. Advice given here should always be checked against the relevant standards, guidance and site-specific risk assessment where needed.
As the forum grows, GetTesting will use it to answer common questions, expand course support, publish useful examples and build a practical archive of technical discussion.
To get started, feel free to introduce yourself, ask a question, or post an example of something you have come across while testing.
Thanks for being part of the early version of the GetTesting TechEx Forum.
